Dear friends

In 47 years we had our 1929 open Ford A as summer car on our farm on the island. Every eight year we have to take it for inspection, so a saturday in September I took the car on the morning ferry from the island. It was a two hour drive to travel the 125 kilometer home. The car has modified engine build by Ford in Köln after the war for industrial use. The engine was developed to be used in for instance waterpumps, small locomotives and power plants. The only different from the original Ford A engine is that the connecting rod bearings are lubricatet from the oilpump An old Ford mechanic changed all the electric wires and had the car inspected with no problems, so now it is ready for another eight years.

In 1962 I bought a 1926 Ford T Business Coupe and started to rebuild it, Engine and front and rear axels ware overhauled, body painted, new tires and so on. Then I bought an old airplane and learned to fly and the model T was put away. Now the old mechanic asked for permission to finish the work her in the winter. The fenders and other smaller things have to be painted before assembly. I have started looking for the parts around in the corners. Some parts might have been used for other model T’s over nearly fifty years.

Povls daughter Victoria age 20, had her flying licence last spring. And Povl is now teaching her to fly the Piper Cub. She studies Global Business Engineering at the University at Aalborg, fare away from our airplanes. Twice she flew us to Endelave last summer when my KZ III was in for repair. Our local flying club invites next saturday afternoon to introduction for coming pilots. Victorias sister Claire, and Bents son Christian both 16 will be there! In Denmark you can have a flying license by 17, where you will have to be 18 for having a drivers license. Ridiculous - silly!!

The weather was not very good for flying last summer, and I only flew 14 hours, mostly to the island. Hopefully 2012 will be a better year for flying.
